While on SNL, Robert Downey Jr. had two recurring characters and performed a number of impersonations. Facing dwindling ratings and pressure from the network executives, the SNL show runner decided that a complete makeover was needed and fired the entire cast, save four members. Fortunately for Hollywood, Robert Downey Jr. was among those who were fired.
Since then, Robert Downey’s career has been well documented. We can all look forward to seeing him in the Iron Man suit once more in the summer of 2015, when Avengers 2 is released.
