This Footage Was Shot From Inside A Flooded Car, And It's Terrifying

Residents in Texas are experiencing a ton of flash floods at the moment, and the situation has gotten so out of control that flooded homes and vehicles don’t even make the news anymore. Needless to say, Texans are pretty freaked out.

And when you see this footage, you’ll understand why. The video below was taken from inside a flooding car, and it’s truly terrifying. Kerry Packer was driving in his Texas town when suddenly, his car began filling up with water.

Video from Cecelia Packer. She says her husband Kerry was trapped in his car at Rinard Creek near Interlachen Lane. He’s…

It’s insane that this guy was just carried away by a raging flood like that. It just goes to show you that there is no force more powerful than Mother Nature. Whenever we start getting big heads about our accomplishments, she is there to rip them away from us and to remind us of exactly how small we are.

When She Saw This Little Guy Struggling In The Floods, She Had To Save Him

Earlier this month, after South Carolina experienced some serious flooding, Sarah Scruggs took a walk through the neighborhood to see how bad the damage really was. While the flooding did, in fact, take 15 human lives, Scruggs was able to help save a furrier life from the wreckage…

She spotted this little guy, motionless, submerged in a puddle. She saw bubbles and quickly scooped him up.

After some rest, little Arthur showed vast improvement.

He mainly needed hydration, so Scruggs fed him Pedialyte before graduating to meat and egg-free puppy formula.

Scruggs has understandably become attached to her new friend…

But she knows he’ll be much, much happier to be released back into the wild.

Because while watching this teeny nugget sleep is the best thing ever…

(We’re not even kidding.)

She knows that he’ll be much happier running around with his squirrel friends.

Although, who knows, maybe he’ll come back some day soon to say hello to his human mom.

He does, after all, have a lot to thank her for!

At about six weeks old, Arthur is almost ready to go back into the wild…just as soon as he starts eating nuts and seeds.

Until then, Scruggs is enjoying what little time she has left with him!

He’s quite the lucky squirrel.

Thank goodness such a caring person was there at the right time. Not everyone would have taken all the time and patience to care for a helpless animal in need. Luckily, she knew what she was doing.

If you come across an animal in need, call your local department of animal resources or animal control for tips on what to do or where to bring him or her.

This Dog Was Cruelly Abandoned During A Major Flood, But Someone Else Was Kinder

The severe rains of late summer and early autumn have caused major flooding along the eastern coast of the United States, forcing many people to flee their homes for higher ground. Conway, South Carolina, was hit hard by the flooding, but amid the panic and uncertainty, a beautiful new friendship was born.

People wade through the rising waters, carrying what belongings they can as they evacuate.

Alex Scroggins was in Conway, SC, helping a family gather belongings when he spied a dog on a neighbor’s porch. As the waters were rising and people were rushing around, the dog was understandably frightened. But Scroggins assumed that the dog’s owners were nearby. After all, who would leave a dog trapped in a flood?

Well, someone did. When the dog remained on the flooded porch, Scroggins finally asked someone what was going on. It turns out the dog’s owner had left a few days prior — and left the dog behind.

On learning that the dog had been so callously abandoned, Scroggins decided to step in. “I approached him, and he was skittish at first, since his owner had left him high and dry,” he recalls. “After I put my hand out and let him get used to me, he calmed down and I pet him.”

“We scooped him up and took him to safety on the boat,” Scroggins said. “He was almost without a dry place to stand by the time I found him. That dog was going to be swept out.”

With the dog loaded up into the boat, he could be safely transported away from the flood. You can see him here peeking out from behind the couch.

After getting to safety, Scroggins tried to find a no-kill shelter for the dog, but they were all full. Not only that, but the dog refused to leave his side. He named the pup Lucky.

He also learned that the original owner had no interest in getting the dog back, and that the Humane Society had been called in on this person for negligence before.

So that’s how Scroggins ended up with the dog, who he’s since named Lucky. He hadn’t planned on getting a dog, but he’s okay with how things have turned out. “I feel like [Lucky] understands what happened, ’cause now he refuses to leave my side,” he says. “It makes me feel better knowing the dog is in a better place than he was. If you see someone in need of help and you can do something, then do something — that goes for people and animals. If you can help out, try. That’s what I hope people take away from this.”
