He Thought He Just A Regular Fish, But When He Looked Closer, He Couldn't Believe It

Nature is both wonderful and terrifying. Just when we think we’ve seen everything there is to see, mother nature surprises us. Usually these surprises are pretty cool, but sometimes they’re downright terrifying. Earlier this month, a fisherman in Colorado got a lesson in the latter.

According to a post on Imgur, the poster’s neighbor was down by a local pound when this was found washed ashore.

From the looks of it, this is a dead fish with what appear to be fully formed legs. Is it time to head for the hills yet?

If you look quickly enough, you might not even notice the creature’s legs, but there they are. Commenters were quick to call this a sign of the end times. However, a much more conventional explanation is likely.

Meet the axolotl, an amphibian with fully formed legs which is related to the salamander. They are sometimes referred to as “walking fish.”

However, there is no concrete proof that the creature in the first picture is actually an axolotl. Maybe we’re witnessing the beginnings of a new, power-hungry fish species who will eventually take to the land.

Ok, that last explanation is a little bit far fetched, but nature does work in mysterious ways. Who knows? If these fish are actually evolving to be Earth’s new overlords, the time to act is now! (Or we can at least keep fishing at the same pond until we catch them all.)

Volcanic Eruptions Are Always Scary, But Something Made This One Extra Terrifying

The Calbuco volcano, located in Southern Chile, erupted on April 22 of this year for the first time in four decades, and then again on April 30. Luckily, Chile’s government evacuated 4,000 people near the volcano and nobody was hurt.

But if the government hadn’t evacuated them, what those who stayed behind saw in the smoke billowing from the volcano might have made them leave anyway. The column that rose from Calbuco took a frightening form.

Take a look at what locals now call “The Angel of Death.”

Eerie, right? A couple weeks ago, the Chilean government said the volcano was back to “routine” levels of inactivity, making it safe to return to the area. But maybe they should wait until the smoke clears…

40,000 Bees Were Found Under This Woman's Bedroom...Ouch

It seems that this year might be the year of the bee, as yet another terrifying bee incident has occurred this spring — this time in New York City. It seems Queens is finally living up to its name.

Over 40,000 bees were found underneath one woman’s bedroom in Flushing. The woman said she was aware that her place had a bee problem, but until she called an NYPD bee detective (which is apparently a thing), she didn’t realize it was this bad.

Mary Jean Dyczko contacted police about her bee problem way back in July, but was told the bees would dissipate before the winter.

But as soon as things got warmer, the hive came back out in full force.

To remove the giant hive, it took three hours they’ll never get back, a heat gun, and a special bee-sucking vacuum (also a thing).

The queen bee was removed but remains unharmed. The bee detective plans on giving her and the rest of the hive to a beekeeper upstate.

I understand why bees are important to the balance of nature and all that. I just wish they knew their place and stayed out of people’s business. That said, if a swarm of bees wants to split the rent of my NYC apartment, please, by all means, swarm under my bedroom.
