Jamaica and Brazil were a bigger part of the African slave trade than the US!

In the past, and continuing through today in some parts of the world, many people have been treated as property to be bought and sold, and forced to work. These people were held against their will from the timer of their capture, purchase, or birth, and deprived of the right to leave, to refuse to work, or to demand compensation.

Many people believe that the United States was the biggest wrongdoer in the African slave trade of the 1700s. Suprisingly, the US isn't even number two on the rankings.

Only 388.000 slaves were ever brought to the United States from Africa. However, 1,000,000 went to Jamaica and nearly 5,000,000 went to Brazil!
