John F. Kennedy is the most popular U.S. President from the 20th century

When looking at retrospective approval ratings of US presidents, John F. Kennedy receives an astonishing 90% approval rating.
Ronald Reagan comes in a distant second place with 78%, while Bill Clinton wins the bronze with 74%.
Not surprisingly, rounding out the bottom are George W. Bush, with a 42% rating, and Richard Nixon, with a 31% rating.
Nixon was Kennedy's campaign rival in the 1960 election and is the only US president ever forced to resign.
Although these are retrospective approval ratings, Kennedy's lowest rating during his presidency was 56%, which makes him of of the most popular leaders that the United States has ever seen.
