Rick Astely is an English pop and soul singer most famous for singing "Never Gonna Give You Up", the infamous song that people are sent to when they are "Rick Rolled".
While Astely is incredibly famous now, many people assumed that he was a black singer early in his career because of his deep voice. There was even an incident where people accused him of lip-syncing on stage, because his voice is so different from his appearance!
Although perhaps most famous for the Rick Rolling phemonomenon, Astely was an incredibly sucessful singer in his own right. He holds a UK record for being the only male solo artist to have his first 8 singles reach the top ten, and sold an estimated 40 Million before his retirement from the singing business in 1993.
