The great African American abolitionist Sojourner Truth once flashed her critics!

Abolitionists were brave people that paved the way for a brighter future by fighting what is inherently wrong: slavery. They stood their ground in protest and wouldn't flinch in the face of danger—and sometimes did this in very unusual ways. Sojourner Truth was an abolitionist and former slave that stood up to her opposition once in such a way.

Sojourner Truth's gender was being question by a group of white male detractors as they tried to humiliate her and make her look bad. Instead of becoming violent or simply turning the other cheek, she chose to open up her blouse and expose her bare breasts to the men.

She didn't stop there, either. She offered her breasts up for her critics, essentially calling them babies.

Truth is best known for her "Ain't I a Woman?" speech where she broke down the stereotypes of women that white women propagated by showing off her muscular arm that she used to plow fields. Her methods were unconventional, but effective.
