Daniel Frederick Bakeman and Susan Bakeman (maiden name Brewer) were married on August 29th, 1772. At the time, Daniel was 12 years old and Susan was 14.

The marriage lasted over 91 years, and ended only when Susan died September 10th, 1863. She was 105 years old.

The Bakeman marriage is the longest ever recorded, as well as the only marriage on record to surpass 90 years. Together, Daniel and Susan had eight children.

In addition to his record-setting marriage, Daniel Bakeman also held the record as the last surviving veteran of the American Revolutionary War. He died at the age of 109 on April 5th, 1869, over one hundred years since the war had ended in 1783.
