Comedy Central honored Johnny Carson's last Tonight Show episode, despite being a rival network

Jay Leno recently made his tearful (and second) goodbye from 'The Tonight Show,' which sees Jimmy Fallon as replacement host.

Before Leno, of course, 'The Tonight Show' was hosted by the man that made light night TV famous, Johnny Carson.

Carson hosted the immensely popular late night talk show for 30 years, before finally ending his run in 1992. Although Carson's show was on NBC, the network rival to cable companies, Comedy Central decided to honor the legendary host during his final episode.

Instead of airing any programming during the 'Tonight Show' time slot, Comedy Central's station simply read "Watching Johnny Carson's last show and so should you."
