Before Ice Cube was a lyrical architect, he considered designing buildings

Ice Cube, or O'Shea Jackson, is known for plenty of projects. He's starred in plenty of movies, established himself as a comedic powerhouse, and spent many years as a successful hip-hop artist. But what about his many years before getting into the hip-hop scene? Turns out he has an appreciation for fine design and architecture.

Ice Cube did a whole video project for Pacific Standard Time celebrating the Eames home that brought architecture and nature into one building. During the video he reveals that before rapping he studied architectural drafting, and obviously still has a passion for it.

He compares his passions, saying that the Eames' were doing mash-ups before they even existed and explaining how taking something that already existed and making it something special, just like when musicians sample from other songs.

It's tough to say what kind of buildings we'd see from Ice Cube if he had continued down the architecture path, but you can be sure they'd be creative and would be found in the heart of city he loves: Los Angeles. He closes the video with a defensive remark: “Who are these people that have a problem with L.A.? Maybe they're just mad they don't live here.”
