Yom Kippur is a Jewish holiday that often involves the act of fasting. Since many Orthodox Jews would not be eating, they needed to jolt themselves full of energy.
They needed a coffee boost that they so desperately needed to start the day off right. Well, apparently the Jewish people in Williamsburg had a plan already in motion.
Many Jewish people picked up caffeine suppositories today, because technically it isn't "eating". For those of you that don't know, suppositories are a tablet that you stick up your bum. There's nothing like a good ol' fashioned loophole.
One distributor of the pills sold nearly 150 suppositories for Yom Kippur. Other members of the Jewish community stated that it's "hard to concentrate when you're fasting and also addicted to caffeine."
Some stores even advertised their suppositories with signs that said "We have caffeine suppositories!" "Be ready!"
