And while this story might not go down in history, it certainly draws attention! It begins like most things in Palestine, during a war. Two zebras were neglected during the Israel-Hamas war and died of hunger.
Zebras are relatively expensive animals, so the zoo was distraught and were unable to procure the funds to buy a new pair. That’s when their genius kicked in.
No zebras? Just put a couple donkeys in there and paint them! Who could ever notice? Unfortunately for the zoo, the keen eyebrows of zebra observers everywhere were raised in disbelief.
Looking at the picture to the right it isn’t too apparent that the zebras are donkeys, and the zoo says that’s all that matters. For little children, so long as they see the black and white striped animal their desire is quenched, and the zoo says they actually prefer the Gaza version!
For any true zebra enthusiasts that find themselves in Palestine, we suggest you try a different zoo before you get your hopes up!
