The Smithsonian owns, and often displays one of Mister Rogers' old sweaters!

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood aired on PBS from 1968 - 2001.

You could go as far to say that Mr Rogers is an American icon, as almost everyone in the United States knows who he is, and is able to recognize his iconic style of sweaters.

If you disagree that Mr Rogers isn't an American icon, you should probably tell that to The National Museum of American History located in The Smithsonian Institution, because they often put one of his sweaters on display!

The museum describes the sweater worn by Fred Rogers as a "National Treasure of American History". The museum states on their website, that although the sweater isn't on display, they still are in possession of it.

The museum further says that Mr Rogers was an iconic figure that "dedicated his television career to promoting children's emotional and moral well-being."

Can you justify the display of Mr Rogers sweater in the same building as former President Abraham Lincoln's hat?
