Kummerspeck is German for "excess weight gained through emotional overeating!"

We all emotionally overeat at some point in our lives. You're stressed. You grab a brownie. You're upset. You eat a hamburger. Sometimes you do this so frequently that you gain weight.

The Germans definitely do this because they have a word specifically for it. "Kummerspeck" is German for the excess weight gained from emotional overeating.

Ouch. Literally it translates to "grief bacon." "Kummer" translates to "grief." And "speck" translates to "bacon." Wouldn't want someone to accuse you of having too much kummerspeck.
