The author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory also wrote a Bond movie!

Roald Dahl is the author of such famous children's books as "The BFG," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "James and the Giant Peach," and "Matilda."

He didn't just write children's books though. Dahl actually wrote the 1967 James Bond film "You Only Live Twice" starring Sean Connery as Bond.

Dahl actually served in the Royal Air Force so perhaps he drew on this experience when writing the action-packed film. He also wrote other grown up films, such as the 1968 hit "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."

He also wrote a number of short story collections, including "Kiss Kiss." After a prolific career, Dahl died of Leukemia in 1990.
