Peter Pan is a character created by Scottish novelist and playwright J.M. Barrie. A mischievous boy who can fly and who never ages, Peter Pan spends his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland as the leader of his gang.
Peter Pan’s appearance was never described in the book, leaving much of it to the imagination of the reader and the interpretation of anyone adapting the character. All we know is that he still had all of his “first teeth,” that he was a beautiful boy with a beautiful smile and that he was energetic.
However, Peter Pan is based off J.M. Barrie’s older brother! He died in an ice skating accident the day before his 14th birthday; and thus always remained a young boy in the eyes of the family. This is why Peter Pan never grows!
