A martial arts expert spends 4 nights a week patrolling for crime dressed as a ninja!

Crime-fighting vigilantes dressed in disguise are the stuff of comic books or blockbuster films, not real life. Ken Andre would disagree with this. The 33-year-old father of two calls himself "Shadow" and uses his martial arts skills to keep the streets of Yeovil, Somerset in the UK safe.

Andre is an ex-military guard and an expert in the Japanese art of Ninjutsu. He wears black Ninjutsu robes and a hearing aid when he patrols at night. The hearing aid amplifies sounds so he's able to detect cries for help. Andre's vigilantism started when he was young and would see his mother beaten up by abusive boyfriends. He vowed he would not sit idly by and watch such things happen.

Andre says that he is "a force for good." He fights drug dealers, gang members, muggers, abusive boyfriends, etc. With his martial art skills and a wooden pole. "Shadow" defuses the situation and then fades back into the night before police arrive.
