Mosquitoes might be making kids fatter!
A recent study by Rutgers university is making a strange claim: Mosquitoes are making kids fatter. It's not that mosquitoes are transmitting some sort of fattening disease. It's much simpler than that: In places where mosquitoes are a concern, kids don't spend as much time outdoors.
The study will have to be replicated to confirm, but their data showed that, controlling for a lot of other factors, outdoor play was 63% less for kids that lived in places with uncontrolled mosquito population.
