Sometimes, you have a little too much room — though usually not where you actually need it. This was the case for Reddit user trolollies; their balcony was great, but they never used one corner of it. And something about all that dead space was getting on their nerves…
This was the section of the balcony, about a third of it, that they simply didn’t use.
What to do with all that space? Well, there was someone else in the family who would enjoy some outside time.
This was the plan, but trolollies didn’t have much experience with DIY projects, building, or tools, so this was a new experience…
First, they bought some wood and began building a fence and a platform.
The pickets were painted and the sections assembled.
Artificial grass was installed, and the whole thing really started to come together…
Planters were added and, of course…some dog toys! Now Franklin has his own little hangout spot on the balcony.

This spot is no longer a waste of space — now the whole family can relax and enjoy the fresh air together!
