The job of police officers is to ensure the safety of everyone in their communities, so when a cop sees something suspicious happening, they are generally inclined to check it out.

When this officer saw a member of his community in peril, he wanted to help the little fella out….even if the resident in question was a stinky critter most people would try to avoid.
