While imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, if anyone tried something like these ridiculous rip-off products in the U.S. or many other countries, they’d be slapped with a serious fine and shut down quickly. Patent lawyers would have a field day. In fact, patent law has been in existence since at least 500 B.C. in Greece, although the rights were usually only granted for short periods of time.

Today, there seems to be a battle between counterfeiters and patent holders that’s in full swing. Obviously many just don’t give a #@&* about whether or not their ripping someone off by stealing their idea.

While it’s a serious issue, some of these are so absolutely ridiculous they’re hilarious, like this coffee shop in Liuzhou, a prefecture-level city in north-central Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China, pictured above. Apparently someone thought they could get rich by copying the famous coffee chain that was birthed in Seattle in the early 1970s. Unfortunately for them, it sounds more like a coffee brothel than a coffee shop. We’re not sure we want to know what they put in those drinks.

Star F**ks probably wins the prize for the most laughable, but there are plenty of others too.
