He Was Found After Being Tortured And Set Ablaze, But He's Still Got Love To Give

Recently, multiple dogs in the Los Angeles area were found with severe burn wounds. The terrifying part? They were all clearly intentional, initiated with lighter fluid or gasoline. Two of them had to be put down because the damage was so bad, but this lucky pup still has lots of life to live and love to give.

Fergus was found wandering the streets in terrible shape. He was brought to a local shelter, where they treated him as best as they could.

But he was soon brought to Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue

After examining him, though, even they had to send the poor dog straight to the Animal Medical Center in West LA.

Thankfully, the vet said Fergus wasn’t in much pain. The burns destroyed most of the nerves down his spine, so while it looks like this sweet one-year-old golden is in agony, he’s actually not in too terrible of shape.

This Irish name Fergus translates to powerful…

Which is super appropriate for this dog, who’s responding really well to his antibiotics and ointments — even though it still looks dire.

It’s a miracle that his eyes weren’t burned in the incident, since the fire started on his head.

This is a tragedy with a silver lining, because he’s still so full of life. You can see it in those precious eyes.

A detective has been hired to try and find the monster behind these terrible crimes, and a reward of $4,500+ has been set for anyone who reveals this person. While it’s great to hear that officials are doing their best to get to the bottom of the problem, it’s still so heartbreaking that someone even did this in the first place. You can contribute to Fergus’ Go Fund Me to help him recover from this terrible incident.
