In ancient times people built statues as peace offerings to the Gods, a practice Italian sculptor Lorenzo Quinn still finds relevant today. In fact, he has constructed his own peace offering in the form of an extremely impressive statue known as The Force Of Nature.

His sculpture measures 8.2 feet (2.5 meters) and depicts Mother Nature swinging the Earth around her in a gravity-defying manner. Slightly altered versions of The Force Of Nature statue have now appeared all around the world, including the United States, Singapore, Monaco and England.

Quinn’s inspiration for his statue came after seeing the ravaged coastal regions of Thailand. He writes, “After having seen the ravaged coast of Thailand and the Hurricane that affected the Southern States I decided to create a sculpture dedicated to Mother Nature. This would be reminiscent of the early statues made as peace offerings to the Gods in the hope of quenching their anger.”

Quinn spent a brief portion of his life acting, but has now dedicated his life entirely to creating “art for myself and for people who wish to come along for a ride through my dreams.” Judging by this incredible Mother Nature statue Quinn’s dreams are certainly a place most people would love to traverse through.
