Bringing a puppy home for the first time is always full of unpredictable difficulties, but this farmer from a village in China experienced more than a simple potty training snafu when he purchased two cuties under the impression they would make “good watch dogs.”
He cared for the pair of brothers for two years before realizing their true identities.
So it’s totally understandable how this cute face might fool someone…
Their owner always took care to groom their coarse hair, but it wasn’t until he visited a local wildlife exhibition that he realized what he really had on his hands.
As the bears are a class two protected species, the owner knew he had to call the authorities to get the fluffy boys back in the wild, where they belong.
The bears have since been placed in a wildlife rehabilitation center to help them regain their undomesticated roots and find their place back in their natural habitat. Even knowing how many adorable big dog breads there are, it’s (kind of) incredible to think how this farmer could be so mistaken for so long.
Hopefully he’ll be a little more careful with his selection for his next set of farm hounds.
