A Cop Approached A Homeless Man At A Gas Station, But No One Expected Her To Do This

Being homeless in the middle of the summer is both unpleasant and dangerous. The relentless heat can really take its toll on people physically and mentally. Most businesses won’t allow anyone to stay on their property for long without buying anything, so they can’t even reap the benefits of air conditioning. The worst part is that many people walk by the homeless, who can’t even afford a bottle of water, without extending a helping hand.

But this police officer in Ocala, Florida, is always prepared to serve and protect those in need. One day, she decided she wanted to make a difference for a homeless man in her community.

Sergeant Erica Hay was going about her day when she saw a homeless man in need.

She was walking to Dunkin’ Donuts for breakfast when she noticed the man sitting by himself, baking under the hot sun.

Hay then decided to buy him breakfast. She even sat down and ate with him so he’d have some company.

Local resident TiAnna Greene witnessed the scene and began recording what she saw.

Greene says that this small act of kindness brightened her entire day.
