This young couple was living the quintessential American dream: go to school, get a job, get married, make a home. Matt and Jessica Johnson, both now 32 years old and married for 10 years, decided that they’d had just about enough of that dream way back in 2008. They wanted to explore the world, not sit on their couch in Michigan watching TV on the weekends….so what did they do?
They sold everything they had, quit their jobs, and bought a boat.
Having never sailed before, they trained for three years, learning the ropes and getting ready for their big adventure.
Once they had their sailing chops under their belts, the only thing missing was a furry companion.
This is Georgie, the lucky kitty the couple adopted to join in on their intercontinental adventures.
She even tried her paws at swimming while the boat was docked, jumping off the bow and climbing up the ladder in the back.
From the Bahamas, to Colombia, and Spain’s Canary Islands, this kitty has traveled the world in style.
Matt and Jessica have also had quite the adventure…
Exploring places, like Machu Picchu, that a lot of young married couples don’t have the opportunity to visit because they are busy paying mortgages for their first house, while also paying off student loans.
I don’t know about you, but it seems to me that this handsome family has really got it all figured out…
In fact, they’re still getting by on their savings years later!
But traveling the seas with their favorite kitty has only made their bond stronger.
Letting her explore all the nooks and crannies wherever they set anchor that day.

What’s next? They’re looking to expand their horizons, and hope to get a stronger boat so that they can plow through ice in the northern hemisphere!
