Jamon May Be Mini In Size, But His Mega Piggy Personality Will Steal Your Heart

It’s no secret that pigs are some of the cutest creatures on earth, but this precious porker might just be the cutest and most charming little piggy on the whole planet.

His name is Jamon and he lives in São Paulo, Brazil, with his parents and equally delightful little brother pig, Nero. While the cutie enjoys a life of eating, sleeping, playing dress-up, and soaking up the sun, he is also an advocate against the misconceptions so many people have about bringing one of these sweet swines into their homes.

He was born in 2013 and adopted by his parents, Dea and Dom, at about two and a half months old.

Dea obviously couldn’t help from flooding her personal Facebook with photos of Jamon’s sweet face, and one day they decided to create his own profile page so his growing group of fans could stay updated on all his adorable adventures.

You can’t deny the beautiful boy has a natural knack for being in front of a camera!

He was still a small fry when they first brought him home, about the size of a puppy.

But his healthy appetite for anything vegan (except mushrooms, he’s not a fan of those) helped him grow bigger and stronger.

The most common misconception about micropigs like Jamon is that they stay their petite size, or “tea cup” size, but he proves that’s simply not the case.

Their miniature size is only in comparison to the much larger, regular farm breed of pigs.

In fact, Jamon would be the first to tell you that there is just no such thing as a “tea cup” pig.

Now over two years old, he measures 28 inches from snout to tail and could almost be mistaken for a medium-sized dog.

Here’s the difference a couple years made for Jamon…it might be time for a new bed, eh?

He advises anyone who wants to bring their own pretty piggy home to understand they aren’t like ordinary pets.

They require a lot of attention, especially because of how smart they are and how quickly they pick up on things.

Jamon even figured out how to open his family’s fridge! They’ve since replaced it with a less pig-friendly option.

Little brother Nero joined the family last year and Jamon loves playing, snuggling, and showing the cutie all the ropes.

Jamon also uses his smarts to learn a few tricks such as sitting, turning, giving his paw, staying, and is always eager to learn more.

But his favorite thing (other than eating) seems to be playing dress-up with new, cute outfits for photoshoots.

His closet started growing after the cold Brazilian winters made it necessary to supply him with sweaters and hoodies. And of course, he just makes everything look so good!

A pig can be one of the most obedient, intelligent, and affectionate pets for your home, but Jamon recommends lots of research and maybe even visiting with an adult pig owner before making the commitment.

The first six months are especially crucial for these cuties development and they can sometimes stay fairly temperamental, but with the right dedication and information they are obviously one of the loveliest additions you can make to your family.

You can catch up on all of Jamon’s adorable adventures on his Facebook and Instagram, and of course stay tuned for more!
