You'll Never Buy Makeup Remover From A Store Again After Reading This

Have you ever read the back of your bottle of makeup remover? Chances are, you won’t be able to pronounce half the chemicals listed in the ingredients. The substance has been found to contain chemicals that release formaldehyde, unrefined petroleum, and even asbestos. Since makeup remover tends to be the last step of the facial cleansing process, you’re leaving all of those nasty chemicals on your face before you go to sleep at night!

Luckily, there’s an easy solution to this problem: you can use ingredients in your kitchen cabinets to make an all-natural makeup remover that will actually improve the quality of your skin. Check out the homemade cocktail below and start treating your skin right.

To mix a makeup remover that’s good for you skin, combine one part olive oil and one part water. Then, break open a vitamin E capsule and add it to the cocktail.

Olive oil is super moisturizing, and vitamin E helps skin maintain it’s natural oils. Vitamin E also is used in most anti-aging products, helping you keep your youthful glow longer.

Then blend all the ingredients together. It should be a shaken cocktail, not stirred!

The oil and water will separate, so you need to make sure you shake it vigorously. If you don’t, you’ll end up with more water than you will oil, and that’s where all the good stuff is.

Instead of using tap water in your makeup remover, use filtered water.

Tap water contains minerals that can clog pores and prevent makeup from washing off completely. When you whip up your DIY makeup remover, or when you wash your face, try using filtered water for an amazingly fresh clean.

If you don’t want to spend money on vitamin E capsules, use almond oil instead.

Almond oil is packed with vitamins A, B, and E, which are often put into store-bought products. If you don’t want to shell out cash for a bottle of vitamins, this option is slightly less expensive.

If you’re prone to breakouts, mix one part witch hazel in with your makeup remover.

Witch hazel naturally kills bacteria. Just don’t use it on your eyes, because it will sting.

If you’re nervous about using heavy olive oil on your skin, use jojoba oil instead.

Jojoba oil is the closest natural oil to the ones your skin produces, minimizing any negative reactions from already oil-prone skin.

If you want to get really fancy with your makeup remover cocktail, use rose water instead of regular water.

Rose water is full of antioxidants and smells great. Using rose water will take your DIY makeup remover to a luxurious level.

I knew olive oil was good for your hair and skin, but I never realized that almond oil was even better. I’m going to start washing my face with filtered water tonight, and throw away my makeup remover! Have you tried any of these makeup remover methods?
