These Awesome Sculptures Are Made From Something Most People Throw Away

Nashville-based artist Devin Drake has taken recycling to a new level with his intricate, finely crafted sculptures. Drake’s eco-friendly works are made entirely from cardboard boxes and held together with glue. Called the Recycled Life Creations, they take a generic cardboard box to exciting heights in the shapes of animals, machines, and other objects.

Each tiny tube and screw has all been carefully created from cardboard.

The corrugated part of the cardboard was turned into the textured focus and aperture rings on this camera.

The best thing about these pieces is that Drake doesn’t need to spend money on art materials, which are often costly. Instead, Drake can take something that would otherwise be scrapped and turn it into something beautiful.

You can see more of Drake’s work, as well as some in-progress pieces, over on his website. He also takes commissions, so if you have someone who loves recycling and turning an ordinary thing into something extraordinary, you now know who to contact.
