Double-exposure photography is the superimposition of two or more exposures to create one image. When properly executed the results can be stunning beyond words. Andreas Lie is a visual artist based in Bergen, Norway with a true talent for creating what looks like double-exposure animal portraits. His work is out of this world incredible, and while many are calling it ‘double-exposure’, Lie explains via Facebook that he is actually a digital artist and his photos are created using Photoshop.

Either way, his images speak volumes as he combines the beauty of Norwegian’s landscapes with the wild animals that call it home. His signature style art morphs wild animals and their habitats into one portrait, which is incredibly fitting considering the two are so deeply interconnected; one will not exist without the other.

Lie’s hometown of Bergen is the perfect place to seek inspiration for his work. The coastal city is tucked among the magical fjords of the Hordaland district and encased by 7 mountains lush with forests people come from near and far to hike. Simply spending time in this region offers the inspiration necessary to see animals and their habitats as one exclusive gift of nature we must all do our part to preserve and protect.

The humble artist behind these awesome portraits is wowed by the amount of support and attention his work has gotten in recent weeks. He shared on Facebook, “The last days have been just crazy, my inbox is flooding!” Not only has he received mass amounts of Internet traffic he was also profiled in the April-May print edition of Embark Magazine.

Some of his supporters have even had duplicates of his artwork made into tattoos inked on their skin for life, now that’s when you know you have some serious fans!
