Sid the silly sloth, one of the lovable characters from the animated series Ice Age, is considered a favorite among many. Despite the fact Sid is a sloth and Zappa is a dog, the two look so much alike it’s almost too good to be true.

Zappa is a fifteen-year-old Italian greyhound dog with a floppy tongue living in Pewaukee, Wisconsin with her doting owners Sadie and Rosalie Millen. Zappa looks like Sid in so many ways, including the shape of her head, her big round eyes, and her unique floppy tongue. Her owners explain that Zappa started sticking out her tongue after she lost her teeth a few years ago. Greyhounds commonly experience dental issues, especially as they get older so it is nothing unusual.

It’s not just Zappa’s appearance that makes her so much like Sid, but she also shares his winning personality. Her owner Sadie says, “Zappa’s quirks and unconventional beauty make her even more special to us. We hope to show how rewarding it can be to take care of a senior dog. Zappa brings so much joy to our lives.”

Sid’s tongue isn’t out all of the time, but his many expressions do include a floppy tongue that resembles Zappa perfectly.

Zappa is quite a hit sensation around the Internet with over 30,000 followers on Instagram and over 2,100 likes on Facebook. People just can’t get enough of the adorable dog with a floppy tongue that looks just like Sid.

Instead of spending her days with a big woolly mammoth named Manny, like Sid, Zappa has a guinea pig best friend forever. While guineas and mammoths are entirely different creatures, they are both unlikely friends for sloths and dogs, making Sid and Zappa that much more alike.
