Feminist Vandals Respond Incredibly To A Sexist “Beach Body” Ad Campaign…Come on, are we really still doing this? The 1950s are over and even Mad Men is coming to an end.
- @hatkinson_ This advert pretty much sums up everything that I despise about how we treat and value women’s bodies.
Protein World put out this sexist ad asking “Are you beach body ready?” Naturally, it offended a lot of people, but they didn’t take it lying down.
Now, people are vandalizing every poster this company has put out in the most brilliant way.
They’re covering the ad with body-positive messages.
It’s gotten so serious, that the ad has sparked a movement.
People have been using the hashtag #EachBodysReady to display their rightful outrage.
This person even went the extra mile to print out their message.
Now, the campaign has launched a petition, which already has over 35,000 signatures.
And how has Protein World responded to all of this?
Pretty poorly, we’d say.
In this day and age, are we really still pushing women towards this predetermined idea of the “perfect” body? If you’d like to sign the petition, you can do so over HERE. For more info about the #EachBodysReady campaign, head over to its Facebook page.
