Generally, social experiments are attempting to find the answers to elusive, technical questions people have been asking since forever. Well, not this one. This backyard scientist just thought it’d be fun to make a watermelon explode – he didn’t expect this result.

So, it turns out molten aluminium and watermelons combine to make some pretty funky (if a bit stinky!) art – science at school was not as cool as this.
