The site where the Titanic was built has been transformed and now houses Titanic Studios, in which the first 4 series of Game of Thrones were filmed

Series 1-4 of the HBO television series ‘Game Of Thrones’ were filmed in Titanic Studios. This studio is very closely affiliated with the Northern Ireland Science Park, a hi-tech science park located in the Titanic Quarter in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Titanic Quarter is a 185-acre site where the Harland and Wolff shipyard used to be located. It is named after the company’s most famous (or its infamous) product – the RMS Titanic, that sank on her maiden voyage after colliding with an iceberg.

Indirectly therefore, Game Of Thrones was filmed very near to the actual site the RMS Titanic was built!

Other films produced in Titanic Studios were ‘City of Ember’ and ‘Your Highness’.

Other projects built on that historic site include the £97 million Titanic Belfast visitor attraction. It holds the record for the island's largest ever single concrete pour (4300 cubic meters) for its foundations.

The architects designed the building in such a way that it reminds one of the very ships built in the shipyard for so many years. Its shimmering façade is very reminiscent of the ocean waters and its overall shape is in honor of the White Star Line's logo.

The largest education facility in Northern Ireland, Belfast Metropolitan College, relocated to a new £44 million campus in Titanic Quarter in September 2011.
