Johnny Depp played the role of a famous United States cocaine dealer in the 1970s and early 1980s named George Jacob Jeung in the movie 'Blow.' And George Jung, who is very real and still very much alive, will be back in the public soon enough.
Jung was born August 6, 1942 and was infamous for being the largest drug trafficker in the United States during the 70s. The cartel he was a part of can take credit for up to 85 percent of the cocaine being smuggled into the United States from Colombia.
Jeung was arrested in Massachusetts in 1987 at his mansion. He skipped bail but was quickly caught up in another deal that went sour when his acquaintance betrayed him. He was arrested again 1994 with 1,754 pounds of cocaine in Topeka, Kansas—he was sentenced to 60 years in prison. This was later reduced when he testified against his former accomplice. He is now set to be released on November 27, 2014—a mere six months away.
