Jamie Hyneman of ‘Mythbusters’ fame has had an interesting life, to say the least.
He was raised in Columbus, Indiana and has this to say about himself as a kid: "I was a problematic kid, to be sure. I left home when I was 14 and hitchhiked all over the country."
He does not say at which stage he returned home (if ever), but he certainly did keep up with his education and he made very sure he had several things ‘to fall back on.'
He has quite a list of careers on his resume like boat captain, linguist, pet shop owner, animal wrangler, machinist, concrete inspector, animatronics technician and chef. He is also a certified dive master and a wilderness survival expert!
Hyneman has a degree in Russian linguistics from Indiana University and an honorary Doctor of Engineering from Villanova University. In 2011 he also received an honorary doctorate from the University of Twente in the Netherlands for his role in popularizing science and technology.
