There's a common belief that all Quentin Tarantino films take place in the same universe. In this "Tarantino universe," Lieutenant Aldo Raine from Inglourious Basterds is the grandfather of Floyd from True Romance, a film that Tarantino wrote. The strange thing? Both roles are played by Brad Pitt.
That's not the only time Tarantino has used relatives of characters in other films. Vincent Vega, played by John Travolta in Pulp Fiction, and Vic Vega, played by Michael Madsen in Reservoir Dogs, are brothers. There was even talk of a Vega Brothers prequel movie being made, but the actors were too old to portray younger versions of their characters.
Donny Donowitz, 'The Bear Jew', is the father of movie producer Lee Donowitz from True Romance as well, and Harvey Keitel's Mr. White from Reservoir Dogs worked with Alabama from True Romance.
Outside of the Tarantino universe, in Legends of the Fall, Brad Pitt played the role of a man who scalps two German soldiers and gets involved with bootlegging. In Inglourious Basterds, he plays the leader of a group that scalps German soldiers and mentions a past involvement in bootlegging.
