A Harry Potter star was stabbed to death before the movie even came out. Find out what happened

A “Harry Potter” star and all-around accomplished actor met a surprising fate one night, one that you wouldn't expect from an upstanding guy or movie star. Robert Arthur Knox, known for playing Marcus Belby in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” was stabbed to death after a fight at a local bar in London.

Robert Knox was born in August of 1989 in Kent, England and began acting at age 11 with small roles in British television. His first movie was as an extra in 2004's “King Arthur.” When casting calls for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” came around in 2007, Knox managed to grab the role of Marcus Belby, a Ravenclaw wizard that was nephew to a famed wizard that invented a potion. The film broke records in sales and was the second-highest grossing film of 2009.

At the age of 18, Knox was stabbed outside the Metro Bar in Sidcup, South East London in May 2008. He stepped in the middle of a fight to protect his younger brother, but one of the attackers was armed with two knives. The Harry Potter film was released posthumously after being delayed due to controversy.
