Many budding companies have been turned away in their early stages only to grow into some of the most profitable and successful organizations. While it is certainly motivating to see these businesses increase in prosperity, there are also equivalent success stories in the entertainment world.

Sylvester Stallone, denied the rights to use the song "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen, contacted the band "Survivor" to create an original song for the Rocky III movie. Out of his initial failure came one of the most famous and Iconic songs of our times, "Eye of the Tiger."

Jim Peterik, the guitarist for Survivor was the first one to hear the news. At first he thought that the mysterious message left by Stallone was a joke, but as soon as he called the number back the classic actor answered with his legend-making inquiry.

Though the band was already popular, "The Eye of the Tiger" went on to propel the band further into stardom and become one of the most iconic songs in history, gaining a #2 spot on the singles list of 1982. Over it's life time so far it has sold over 9 million copies worldwide in both digital and vinyl copies, making it onto the best-selling list.
