When you think of New York, you think of pizza. Slices of gooey, hot, curbside goodness that is apparently some of the best in the world.
From the turn of the twentieth century, around 1905 to be more precise, New York saw it's first pizzas in famous Lombardi's in Little Italy. The pizza only cost five cents and igniting a firestorm of curious stomachs.
Pizza became even more popular in the 1960s, especially when a new fad came around. Frozen pizza managed to spread the doughy cheer across the globe instead of just those living in or close to New York.
The oddest part about it? One of the earliest frozen pizza companies was run by a family named Pizza. Anthony J. Pizza Food Products Corp was run by president Anthony Pizza, vice president Donald Pizza, and vice president of production, Richard Pizza.
