Stephen Colbert called Windsor, Ontario "the Earth's rectum." Guess how many Canadians agreed?

In Comedy Central TV host Stephen Colbert's book America Again: Re-becoming the Greatness We Never Weren't, the comedian writes, "Before we can harness geothermal power, we have to take the planet's temperature with a geo-thermometer. And I have no idea where the Earth's rectum is!"

A footnote at the bottom of the page implies that the Earth's rectum is, indeed, "Windsor, Canada." Windsor is located just across the U.S. Canada border near Detroit.

In response to the joke, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) created a poll on their website asking if the description of the city was accurate. 85% said yes!

Colbert has a history of poking fun at the city, as he also called it "the worst place on Earth" during a segment of "The Word" on The Colbert Report.
