In 2008, 789 grams of 2,700-year-old marijuana was found in a Chinese tomb!

Researchers say they have found the oldest marijauna stash of all time, proving that some of our ancestors may have been smokers, jokers, and midnight tokers.

This massive marijuana stash weighed in at 789 grams, and was located in a remote part of China in a tomb.

A research paper in the Journal of Experimental Botany says that the stash was almost definitely used for psychoactive purposes, rather than for fabric and clothing.

This isn't the first time marijuana has been found in large quantities. Remnants of cannabis have been found in ancient Egypt, and ancient others such as the Greek Herodotus have written about the substance.

The dry conditions in the tomb acted as a preservative, allowing a team of scientists to analyse the marijuana. The stash was found in a pile, next to a light-haired, blue-eyed Caucasian man who we can almost guarantee died extremely happy.
