Nicolas Cage once took magic mushrooms with his cat!

Nicolas Cage is all about solidarity apparently. When his cat, Lewis, got into his refrigerator and ate a bag of hallucinogenic mushrooms that Cage had stashed there, Cage decided he must do the mushrooms with his cat. It was the only polite thing to do.

So Cage took the mushrooms and went on a trip with Lewis. According to Cage, he and Lewis just lay in his bedroom for hours and stared at each other. Cage lay on the bed and locked eyes with Lewis who was perched on the top of the desk. Cage says that he knew in that moment that Lewis was his brother.
