When you imagine Honolulu, you may think of lush green rain forests, volcanos and pristine beaches. You may not think of sky scrapers, but you should. Honolulu is Hawaii's capital and the most populous city in the state. Considering it's location, it is also a major hub for international business and the military. It is both the southernmost and westernmost United States city.
Knowing all this, it isn't surprising that Honolulu has the fourth most skyscrapers of all United States cities. It falls behind just New York City, Chicago and Miami.
In Hawaiian, Honolulu means "sheltered bay" or "place of shelter." Its population was 390,738 at the 2010 census. And the majority of this population is Asian-Pacifica Islander
