A man patented something eerily similar to an iPod in 1979!

The iPod is a range of portable music players designed by the company Apple Inc. The iPod comes with computer cables so that the user can put music from their computer onto the iPod, and play music from it using a pair of headphones. Newer iPods allow it's users to play games, view pictures, watch videos and even use the internet.

Apple has several kinds of iPods, such as the iPod nano, iPod shuffle, iPod classic, iPod touch and even a phone called the iPhone. IPods often contain songs downloaded from an online music store, using a program called iTunes.

However, a man thought about the whole MP3 device revolution before Apple Inc. Did. Kane Kramer, submitted a patent in 1979 that almost perfectly resembles an iPod. He even went as far as predicting a need for DRM and a way to distribute the music.
