A Buddha statuette from India was found at a Viking village!

Buddha was a sage on whose teachings Buddhism was founded.

Buddha means “awakened one” or “the enlightened one”. Buddha is the primary figure in Buddhism, and accounts of his life, discourses, and monastic rules are believed by Buddhists to have been summarized after his death and memorized by his followers.

A lot of art pieces have been created in his honor. For instance at Helgo, which is an island in Sweden, there were some excavations in 1954, in which amongst the most notable finds there was a small Buddha statuette from North India and a christening scoop from Egypt. What’s interesting is that Helgo is a Viking village! So it was most like brought there by Vikings!
