Jack Nicholson got a present from his #1 fan: a freshly cut elk-heart on his front porch!
Actor Jack Nicholson befriended author-journalist Hunter S. Thompson. The two had this adorable inside joke going wherein they would exchange “bizarre” presents. Mr.Thompson decided to take level up their little game.
On the night of his birthday, he appeared outside Nicholson’s house and set off a high-powered spotlight and gunfire, playing a tape of animal cries through an amplifier to awaken him.
He then waited outside Nicholson’s house, and left a freshly-cut elk’s heart on the door when it appeared that nobody would exit the house. Not surprisingly, Nicholson thought that it was all some kind of satanic assassination attempt.
