North Korea isn't all about missiles--they also love their basketball

North Korea is a pressing threat on the world, eager to show off their military might, nuclear arsenal, and skills on the court. Yes, the country of North Korea, specifically its leaders, the late Kim Jong Il and current leader Kim Jong Un, are huge fans of the NBA.

Kim Jong Il is such a fan of the sport that he put regulation courts in at most of his palaces, plus a video library of nearly every Michael Jordan game from his time with the Bulls. He even allowed Tony Ronzone, director of basketball operation for the Detroit Pistons to visit North Korea on three occasions to conduct coaching clinics. That's right, North Korea plays basketball.

However, with little contact from the outside world the rules tended to evolve and change, mostly with the scoring. A dunk is worth three points, a three-point shot is worth four if the ball doesn't touch the rim, and any basket in the last three seconds is worth eight points. Also, a missed free throw will set you back a point!
