The Amazing Stuff

When people noticed that a dog was tied to a tree by a river in Arkansas, they called local animal control. Workers arrived and immediately saw that it was much more than a typical abandonment case — this particular pup was tied up so tightly that the mutilation inflicted was truly disturbing and heartbreaking to witness.

The rope was so embedded into the dog’s neck, you can only imagine the amount of suffering he endured before being rescued.

Pine Bluff Animal Friends, a group of volunteers for the local shelter, made sure the little guy got the medical attention he needed right away, no matter what the cost.

The rope was so deep in his flesh that he had to be sedated, having it surgically removed. The operation was a success…

But the organization was out over $300 that they couldn’t afford on their own.

Luckily, the public quickly caught wind of this terrible situation and made sure that all the bills were paid through many generous donations.

It breaks my heart thinking of all the hours this poor pooch sat there while the rope dug its way into his neck. Thank goodness for the incredible volunteers at Pine Bluff Animal Friends and the amazing kindness of all the concerned citizens in the area looking to remedy the situation. This pup, now named River, is on the mend and so incredibly grateful to all the people who helped him out.

This group of amazing people helped save the lives of two teeny-tiny pups. One brave woman went so far into the deep mud hole to make sure the little guys were safely retrieved. I get claustrophobic in my own apartment, but thank goodness she’s got way more guts than me.

The tense moment will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end, but don’t worry: there’s a happy ending.

Who knows what happened to send those scared, sweet pups so far into the small space, but thankfully they’re all cleaned up now and will never have to feel that fear again.

When you bring an animal into your home, you are agreeing to care and provide for them. They aren’t something you can toss aside when you decide they’ve become inconvenient. Unfortunately, too many heartless people believe otherwise and abandon their pets to roam hopelessly, searching for help.

This sweet husky puppy and her mom were found barely hanging in there on the side of a busy road. Thankfully, kinder humans gave them both the second chance they deserve.

At first, they only noticed the small puppy by herself while cars whizzed by.

Then they saw her mom, clearly underweight and in need of a good meal.

She also desperately required treatment for a skin irritation covering her body.

But despite the traumatic ordeal, they still had each other’s love to help them hold on.

They were brought to the Animal Friends Foundation in Bourgas, Bulgaria, where they were given the love and attention they deserved.

They were shy at first, but surprisingly unafraid of the new humans in their lives.

They decided to name the mom Siberia.

The little one now goes by Alaska.

After lots of medicine and food helped her grow back her hair and gain some weight, Siberia’s happy face is now almost unrecognizable.

Alaska is also doing much better and both have found loving forever homes.

Here she is howling with happiness in her family’s backyard.

And Siberia works her way through what I’m sure is the latest of many chew toys.

It’s sad to think about how these two ended up in their tragic situation. How many cars passed them by before someone finally took the time to give them the help they deserved? It doesn’t take much to save lives, just a simple act of kindness. Thank goodness these cuties will never have to worry about fending for themselves ever again.

While officers were serving a Phoenix, AZ, property with a drug-related warrant, they noticed something entirely unrelated…and much cuter. They needed to act fast, though, because the tiny newborn they’d stumbled upon was stuck headfirst in a drainage pipe.

Luckily, animal rescue officers responded speedily to the discovery.

The little guy was facedown in this slippery pipe…

But they managed to get him out before it was too late!

What seemed like it could have been a gloomy end for this sweet pooch turned into a happily ever after. He was rushed straight to the local animal clinic to make sure he was healthy and safe.

Ranch Dog Rescue in California recently rescued a pup severely in need of medical attention.

When they found him, his mouth was clamped shut with rubber bands so tight that they left gashes down to the bone. Thankfully, he’s on the road to recovery, but the first five months of his life were full of neglect and abuse.

Just listen to him finally get to roar that famous Husky grumble!

The investigation of Kane’s abuse is still ongoing at this point, but at least that means that the authorities are being thorough.
