You'll Never Believe How This Kitten Was Found, Or How She Ended Up There...

A woman in Washington was walking her dog when they came across a box. The pup was oddly curious about it, so the woman figured she’d better check out what was inside. When she opened it, she found something so heartbreaking…

This little kitten was waiting inside the box.

She was a little skinny, but otherwise pretty healthy. But…why was she in a box by the side of the road?

This note was written on the inside of the box. It reads…

“My mommy’s boyfriend is mean to me. [Desperate] for loving home :(”

Hold on for a second while I go find some Kleenex.

It’s incredible that a child would have the heart to let go of a furry friend in exchange for its safety. Not all young people are able to think of other beings in that way — and clearly some adults are incapable, too. Now the tiny kitten is being cared for by MEOW Cat Rescue, and she’s living in a foster home with other kittens her age. She’s not old enough to be adopted yet, but as soon as she is, we’re sure she’ll have no trouble finding a loving home.

This child’s bravery saved a kitten’s life. Bravo!

What He Found In An Oil Spill Will Have You In Tears, But Hope Wasn't Lost

When an oil pipeline in Nefteyugansk, Russia, ruptured in July, humans weren’t the only ones on the receiving end of its goopy, hazardous mess. These two itty-bitty kittens were almost lost in the murky floods.

Thankfully, one man heard their cries for help and brought them into his care.

We all know how devastating an oil spill can be…

So when Anatoly Tuptey heard these kittens calling out, he didn’t hesitate to help.

He says one was stuck all the way up to his neck in the oil.

Tuptey braved the bleak waters to make sure he retrieved both, bringing them back to his home.

After a much-needed bath, some food, and plenty of cuddles, they met his dog.

Thank goodness this man was able to hear their cries for help. While speaking to The Siberian Times, Tuptey said he was confused how anyone could leave these precious babies to fend for themselves in such awful conditions. Luckily, it looks like they won’t have to worry about that ever again.

Shakes The Kitten Is A Little Different, But To Us, She Is Perfect

It’s easy to see where Shakes the kitten got her descriptive moniker from as soon as you meet her. She has a neurological condition known as feline cerebellar hypoplasia. Basically, it causes her to be in a constant state of tremors and shaking.

But what really makes the sweet girl so special is how she refuses to let that stop her from enjoying her life. She is just as playful as any other eight-week-old and tackles the adventures of the world head-on. Shakes was rescued by World For All, a shelter in Mumbai, India, that helps stray animals find homes.

The cutie will wobble right into your heart.

Shakes may be a little clumsier than the average kitten, but that only makes her that much cuter. Whichever lucky human brings her home will have a lifetime of happiness with this sweetie around.

Seconds Before Incinerating Tons Of Rotting Food, They Heard A Noise And Found...

In Stockholm, Sweden, right before hauling away literally tons of rotting, dripping, stinky garbage to the incinerator, workers heard a tiny noise from the mountain of trash. Small meows were coming from inside the mess, and the workers weren’t about to let whatever kitten was in there get thrown into a fire…so they dove in to its rescue.

This is what they were up against.

So. Much. Garbage…juice.

They used a shovel and broom to carefully sift through all of the sludge…

Making sure not to hurt the kitty in the process.

After 30 minutes, they saw this.

He was slimy, stinky, and repulsed by his own condition, but otherwise alright.

After a bath at the shelter, he was still a little grumpy about the situation.

I would be too. Ick x 1,000.

But he soon cheered up!

Because one of the shelter workers adopted him not too long after he came in.

What started off as a scary and so, so, so, sososo gross situation turned into a good thing for this little guy. Had he not gotten stuck in this trash heap, he might never have found this loving forever home — talk about a silver (trashy) lining!

Abused Animals Take Care Of Each Other At This Amazing Sanctuary

The residents of this sanctuary share one thing in common: they all had tough starts to life.

In the Bulgarian countryside, the people at Four-Legged-Friends care for once-abused animals, nursing them back to health and happiness. There’s just one thing, though…not everyone here has four legs! The goal of this sanctuary is to show these guys compassion, whether it’s through each other’s company, or through human compassion, all while also teaching children to properly care for creatures.

These two are getting into some shenanigans in the ivy.

This posse’s all-inclusive.

Just two pals keeping watch.

Cats and dogs find plenty of time to play fight here!

Sometimes these guys get friendly people visitors, too.

That looks like a comfy place to rest her weary feathers.

Animals that were once broken now have the companionship they need to survive.

Nap time!

Aaand, still nap time.

Sharing is caring.

Sorry, did I walk in on a private conversation?

Looks like it’s back to nap time…

Oops, woke up the crew.

Young or old, it doesn’t matter here!

These guys don’t care where they came from, all they need to know is that they’re loved now.

Big or small….

Fluffy or short-haired…

These animals are so lucky to have their new forever friends.

“You got something to say to my new BFF?”

These guys REALLY like naps, though.

These 34 Dogs And Cats Were Hungry For Food And Affection...Until This Happened

When Minnesota couple Jeff and Diana Hall took a trip to La Paz, Mexico, they thought they were just going to have a nice vacation, dipping their toes into the surf and sipping on fruity, icy drinks in the shade. But, as avid animal lovers and owners of a doggy day camp in their hometown of Burnsville, they came across something they simply couldn’t ignore.

Homeless and hungry, a pack of 34 stray dogs and cats caught the couple’s heart.

They called the local shelter, but they were already at capacity and couldn’t take a single other animal.

…But they weren’t about to stop there.

After making sure they were well fed and hydrated, the Halls started a GoFundMe page in the hopes that they would find legal ways to get each and every one of the animals to a home in Minnesota.

How will they bring the 13 puppies, four dogs, and seven cats, dubbed the Baja 34, back home?

They’ll have to crowdsource enough money to get each and every one of them vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and transported to the U.S., where they will wait for their forever home in the safety of a shelter.

All of these animals are sweet as can be, with even the most originally standoffish pups coming around after they saw that the Halls were only there to help.

Every cent donated to the Baja 34 pack will go toward getting these animals into their forever homes…

The good news?

A couple of these pups have already been transported to Minnesota and have been placed in their loving forever homes.

The not-so-good news…

Many of the pups still need your help finding their families!

The Halls are positive that each and every one of this crew will make a wonderful, loving pet, if they’re just given the chance to prove it!

(via Little Things)

The Baja 34 rescue fund is still a couple thousand dollars short of their goal, so if you’d like to help these Good Samaritans out, you can still pitch in! Even if you can’t be in Mexico to feed the animals, you can aid from afar!

What a wonderful initiative to save a group of friendly animals that would have otherwise remained homeless forever.
